vBulletin forum software May 2, 2006

vBulletin is one of the most widely and probably the best Forum messageboard software. Although, phpBB is probably older and more commonly used, vBulletin being a commercially sold, is definitely ranks much ahead. I have always personally prefered Invisionboard as my choice of Forum and i have worked with it as well on multiple sites. But lately , i have slowly inclined towards vBulletin. I wont be going into the details, but recently i downloaded vBulletin for working on a project and have been tinkering with it. Many people are of the opinion that vBulletin is probably less design friendly, but who cares about design when the amount of Hacks or Mods available are far greater. Invisionboard has lots of Mods as well and a good modding community , but when i recemtly saw the number of freely available Mods in vB , and the amount of features, integrations and support that comes in it my mouth did start to water.

Enom aquired by demand

Enom , a Domain Registrar , which was previously controlled by demand , has now been aquired by Demand ;)

eNom, Inc., a domain name registrar, today announced that it has been acquired by Demand Media, Inc., a new company headed by former MySpace.com Chairman, and former CEO of Intermix Media, Richard Rosenblatt.

The company said that Los Angeles-based Demand Media will broaden eNom’s offerings by developing proprietary content tools and technologies, and online advertising opportunities for eNom’s clients. With the acquisition, Paul Stahura, eNom Founder and CEO, becomes President and COO of Demand Media. Terms of the private sale were not disclosed.

“For eNom’s valued network of resellers and retail customers, the acquisition represents no changes to existing relationships,” assured Stahura. “We will continue to offer domain name and related services under the eNom brand, which is one of the strongest in the domain-name business. eNom’s resellers can be confident that the company will continue to build and enhance its infrastructure, enabling eNom to offer an even more robust suite of services.”
